As a veteran-owned and operated business, High Country Air Service understands and values the essential contributions military servicemembers make to the country. Thank you for your service and your interest in our SkillBridge internship program.
Our internship enables transitioning military pilots to smoothly enter civilian aviation careers. We provide interns the opportunity to convert their existing military aviation ratings to their civilian equivalents while also exposing participants to various aspects of general aviation including private and corporate flying. Interns complete academic training on the similarities and differences between military and civilian flying with an emphasis on Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations, commonly referred to as the Federal Aviation Regulations. Interns also have the opportunity to fly with mentor pilots in aircraft operated by the company. Exceptionally-qualified participants may also have the opportunity to earn additional civilian ratings during their internship, subject to time and resource availability.
Our program is DOD-approved and has also been approved by the USAF, USN & USMC. We are in the process of obtaining SkillBridge approval from the Army. New application procedures coming soon. Stay tuned to this page for updates.
Although our first internship program is focused on transitioning military pilots, we are working on similar programs for mechanics and other aviation professionals. Click below to subscribe to our Skillbridge mailing list.
